How to Get Free/Discounted Disney Tickets
If you’ve been reading our site in detail, you’ll notice that we are constantly referring to the “Big Three” costs associated with a Disney vacation:
1) accommodation,
2) food, and
3) park tickets
The first two costs are fairly easy to save money on – primarily because there is significant competition in and around Orlando for your business and we use this fact to max out your savings; however, if you want Disney World, Universal Studios (with its signature Universal Hollywood Horror Nights!), or Sea World tickets, you are facing a monopoly, and with it, a challenge to buy tickets at a discount. So if you want to save money on tickets, you need to get smart and utilize all of the resources available to you.
Disney Tickets from Family Members
First things first. If a family member works for one of the Disney companies, they sometimes have access to discount (or free!) Disney tickets. You’d be surprised at what is considered a Disney company. If a member of your family works for ESPN or ABC they are part of the Disney Group of Companies. They may have unused passes in their top drawer – many people don’t want to vacation with the company that they work for, so they may think these tickets are unimportant. More specifically though, make sure that you can actually use them – most of the time family is okay, but it can get risky when friends, instead of family, utilize free Disney tickets.
Disney Tickets Auctioned at a Charity Event
If that does not work, charity auctions are a good source. Disney will gift tickets to thousands of charities worldwide and, while the tickets are important for you, they may not be important for others. A bargain is entirely possible and even probable at an auction.

Disney Tickets on eBay
Three words – don’t do it. The last thing you want is to show up at the Magic Kingdom only to be turned away because your ticket was sold twice. Not only will you lose hundreds or even thousands of dollars (if you have a big Disney loving family), but the discounts are not that much better (if they are run, don’t walk, away from the eBay seller.)
Disney Tickets from a Reputable Online Re-seller
When all else fails, do the smart thing. Buy your tickets in advance from an online ticket broker. There are many available, but we love Best of Orlando. Best of Orlando will save you about 7-10% off of park prices, but more importantly, they have the credentials you are looking for:
- Best of Orlando of Orlando is rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau;
- Best of Orlando has a 3000 square foot brick and mortar store less than one minute from the entrance to Disney World, “just in case;”
- Best of Orlando is the least expensive ticket discounter that we’ve found selling Disney tickets.
One point though. When utilizing Best of Orlando, you must buy your tickets at least two days before you travel. They need this time to process your order and send you your e-confirmation. They expedited ours in one day the first time I used them (I did not fully realize the point until I was ordering, then called and pleaded for help); however, if you are going to Disney tomorrow it’s not worth the headache – just buy them at the gate.
As you can tell we are a fan of Best of Orlando because it hits what we consider to be the three most important aspects of discount Disney tickets:
1) safety,
2) ease of use, and
3) a good discount.

I saw your post on Facebook and clicked to see what it was all about. It worked as advertised. The discount was about 10%.
